Jack Yan Chen (he / his / him)
Is a Chinese born, first generation Canadian currently based in Toronto. He became obsessed with movies and the universal language of emotional images through his experiences growing up without a clear understanding of the concept of sarcasm or that goats, lamb and sheep are actually a different species of animals.
The subtleties of storytelling is what motivates him to the core and he approaches his projects as if a narrator to a novel. Jack instinctively employs motivated choices to create an immersive experience for his viewers and since had the pleasure to lens a variety of projects in several different mediums.
When not on set, Jack enjoys celebrating excessively after scoring a goal in his rec league, finding extra golf balls after losing his drive into the trees, and badly recreating recipes from Chef Gordon Ramsay.
Jack is an Associate Member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers and a die hard fan of Liverpool FC. (You’ll Never Walk Alone!)
